Bug Boil 2011

Saturday was the annual Sanchez Crawfish boil so London and I headed on over to Tony and Dee's for some mudbugs, jambalaya, and good company. This was my third year and of course London's first. Tony boiled up any amazing 33 pounds of the fiesty critters along with plenty of corn, sausage, potatoes, and shrimp! Be jealous:) London had a great time playing with her boyfriend Noah. He couldn't wait to give her a kiss as soon as we got there, too cute. Mom was not camera ready unfortunately. Sadly Dennis had to work this year but Tony being the guy he is boiled up some bugs for him today so we headed over for round two! Thanks so much Tony and Dee for another wonderful year.

Urban Oasis

Today was Dennis' weekday off so we decided to take advantage of this early Summer weather. The three of us headed downtown to Lady Bird Lake but not before stopping at the trailers to pick some Torchy's Tacos, Man Bites Dog hot dogs, and of course beans for London:) We found a nice spot by the water and set up our picnic. London loved watching the dogs, birds, and rowers. She ate all the avocado off my taco too! Dennis and I enjoyed the warm weather-it was 90 today! Today was definitely a day that reminded us why we love Austin. After London went to bed I worked in the garden. I am getting it ready to plant and to my surprise discovered little carrots that Dennis' dad had planted last Fall-they survived the winter!

Lunch Bunch

Well it's that time again; time for another playdate. This month our friend Jessica hosted in her beautiful home. A treat for us because she lives close:) She made delicious tortilla soup served with all the fixings. London now loves tortilla soup, cornbread, and super loves avocado:) The cherry dumpcake was also a hit with her. We enjoyed good food, conversation, and most of all friends. We had two newbies this time. Laura came with one of her two year old twins, Lily and Casey who is expecting her first baby in June. All in all we had seven moms, six babies, and two buns in the oven-a wonderful turnout! Its so fun to see the kids grow and interact with each other. London and I love all the tips we get from the other moms too.

SXSW 2011

Well after getting an unexpected night off we all headed downtown to enjoy some live music in the Live Music Capital. The annual SXSW (pronounced south by southwest)music and film festival is going on this week. We enjoyed some music, shopping, and food at Auditorium Shores all for free! You've gotta love Austin. It was slightly breezy so London was in heaven and she also loved the music.

I got London some shades for our upcoming roadtrip since it's heating up. Oh and she's learned how to dismantle the shade on her carseat! Too bad there wasn't a video of the two of us when she tried them on. She cracked me up with her reaction to the "darkened" view-lol! Her eyes were so wide and she was so confused it was hysterical, poor thing:) And no I don't expect that she will keep them on...

A Day at the Park

Today London and I took advantage of the wonderful Spring weather and headed to central Austin for some fun in the park with her "boyfriends" Soren and Brandt. Being the great mom that I am I remembered bubbles, bread for the ducks-you know important things; yet somehow forgot food for my daughter, her toys, and a blanket for her to sit on (well really I just left them in the car a mile away:) Oh well thankfully the other moms were more prepared. London did get to try blueberries though thanks to my forgetfullness!
