London's One Month Old!?!

We've had a very busy weekend. London welcomed her Uncle Kim, Aunt Smita, and cousins Luke and Laila from Los Angeles as well as the Nkonge family Ben, Susan, Brenda, and Tiffany from Boston. She was showered with gifts and love. Everyone took turns doting over her. We were very blessed once again to have a house full of food and family. We had a wonderful weekend visiting with everyone and the kids all had a blast playing together. This has been a whirlwind month full of firsts. First time to meet grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Today was her first trip to church. Happy one month birthday London-I don't know what we ever did without you and we can't wait to see what your second month of life has in store for us!

Our Growing Girl

London had her two week doctors visit today. She appears to be doing quite well. After dropping a few ounces after birth as expected we were anxious to see if she would make it back up to her birth weight by two weeks which is what her doctor wanted to see. Well to our amazement and Dr. Cheng's our little girl gained a whopping 24 ounces! That's right 1 1/2 pounds in 9 days. She definitely takes after her mom's side of the family in that department:) We're still chuckling. I guess Grandma Janet and Aunt Latisha can take some credit for all the delicious food they made and stored for mom to eat. She also grew an entire inch- it wasn't our imagination that her blankets were getting too small. What a blessing...

Birth- 7lbs 15oz 20 inches

3 Day old doctor visit- 7lbs 4 oz 19 3/4 inches head circumference 36 cm

2 week visit (12 days old)- 8lbs 12oz!!! 21 inches head circumference 37 cm

It's a Girl!

After much anticipation we are pleased to announce the arrival of our baby girl London Sophia into the world on Sunday August 1, 2010 @ 3:36p.m. @ 42 weeks gestation. She weighed 7 pounds and 15 ounces and was 20 inches long. Her Meru name is Makena given by Dennis' mother which means happiness. Our anniversary present was to bring her home yesterday after a 5 day hospital stay. She was welcomed home by her Grandma Janet and Aunt Latisha as well as her first pet Nairobi. It has been an exhausting week but we couldn't happier and she could not possibly be any cuter:) Thanks for all the prayers and well wishes. We can't wait for everyone to meet her!
